Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026
Draft notice:this page describes the data Namasté actually collects and how it is handled by this application, but it is a working draft and has not yet been reviewed by an Egyptian data-protection or consumer-protection legal advisor. It should be reviewed against Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 151 of 2020) before the store launches publicly.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text), if you create an account.
- Order information: shipping address, governorate, phone number, and the items you purchase, whether you check out as a guest or a signed-in customer.
- Payment information:card and wallet details are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Paymob, and are never transmitted to or stored on Namasté's own servers.
- Communications: messages you send us through the Contact page, including your name, email, and message content.
- Product reviews: ratings and comments you submit for products you have purchased.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information above to:
- Process and fulfill your orders, including calculating shipping to your governorate.
- Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and return/refund status notifications.
- Respond to questions submitted through the Contact page.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and payment failures.
- Improve our products and site based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising purposes outside of Namasté's own communications.
3. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate the store, each of which processes a limited slice of your data on our behalf:
- Paymob — processes payment card and mobile wallet transactions.
- Supabase — hosts our database and authentication system, with row-level security restricting access to your own records.
- Brevo — delivers transactional emails such as order confirmations and return updates.
- Sentry — helps us detect and fix technical errors; it may capture limited diagnostic data if the site encounters a bug while you are using it.
- Google and Facebook — if you choose to sign in with a Google or Facebook account instead of creating a password, they share your name and email address with us to create or match your account; we never receive your Google or Facebook password.
4. Data Retention
We retain order records for as long as needed to comply with Egyptian tax and consumer protection recordkeeping obligations. Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, and are periodically reviewed for deletion.
5. Your Rights
You may ask us at any time to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate account or order details.
- Delete your account and associated personal information, subject to any records we are legally required to keep (e.g. completed order/tax records).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
6. Children's Privacy
Namasté sells products for babies and young children, but our customers — the people who create accounts and place orders — are adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
8. Contact Us
